  our 45th anniversary\, The Greek Orthodox Church of St. Demetrios would l
 ike to invite the faithful of the Chicago area to join us for a special ev
 ening with featured speaker REV. FR. GEORGE DRAGAS.</p>\n<p>The evening wi
 ll start with a Paraklesis to St. Demetrios at 6:30 p.m. followed by Fathe
 r George’s lecture on “The Fathers’ Interpretation of the Bible”</p>\n<p>F
 r. George Dion Dragas taught Patristics and Orthodox Theology at Durham Un
 iversity in England (1974-1995). In 1995 he came to Holy Cross Greek Ortho
 dox School of Theology\, as Dean and Professor of Patristics and Church Hi
 story. He also served as Acting-President of Holy Cross and Ecumenical Off
 icer of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.</p>\n<p>He is a special
 ist on the Fathers of the Church (Early and Byzantine) and particularly on
  St. Athanasius and St. Cyril. He has been involved in Ecumenical Dialogue
 s for many years as representative of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Const
 antinople\, the Patriarchate of Antioch and the Patriarchate of Jerusalem:
  in the WCC (Faith and Order) and in Orthodox/Anglican\, Orthodox/Reformed
 \, Eastern/Oriental\, Orthodox/Methodist\, Orthodox/Lutheran and Muslim/Ch
 ristian Dialogues.</p>\n<p>He has recently been involved with the Orthodox
  Research Institute (ORI) in New Hampshire (USA)\, initiating new publicat
 ions and Series of Studies in Patristic and Orthodox Theology as editor\, 
 translator and author.</p>
