iends of ASBM\,</p>\n<p>With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Demet
rios of America I would like to cordially invite you to attend a Christmas
concert entitled\, Glory in the Highest\, featuring the Archdiocesan Byza
ntine and Youth Choirs at Carnegie Hall on December 16\, 2012\, beginning
at 6PM. The concert will be for the benefit the ancient church of the Holy
Archangels in the Holy Metropolis of Proussa.</p>\n<p>The church of the H
oly Archangels\, or as it is known in Greek\, Taxiarches\, was built in th
e 8th century. This is an important church because it is among the oldest
ones still standing in this eparchy. During the exchange of populations at
the turn of the 20th century and in accordance with the Treaty of Lausann
e\, this church was confiscated by the Turkish government. Now\, almost 10
0 years later\, our beloved Ecumenical Patriarchate is in a position to pu
rchase this ancient church back and reopen its doors for all of her faithf
ul. By supporting this concert you will help in this sacred effort.</p>\n<
p>The concert program will feature a selection of ecclesiastical hymns fro
m the Christmas period performed by the Archdiocesan Byzantine Choir. The
Archdiocesan Youth Choir will perform a number of songs and Greek traditio
nal Kalanda to usher in the Christmas season. This is the second time the
Archdiocesan choirs are sharing a stage at Carnegie Hall and just as the f
irst time\, it will surely be a night to remember. We wholeheartedly invit
e you to join us for an unforgettable evening of glorious Christmas music
for a most noble cause.</p>\n<p>Wishing you every blessing during this Chr
istmas season and the protection of the Holy Archangels upon you and your
 loved ones\, I remain</p>\n<p>With deepest respect\,</p>\n<p>Archdeacon Pa
nteleimon Papadopoulos<br />\nDirector\, Archdiocesan School of Byzantine
 Music</p>
