The Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy (IAO) is organizing a colloquium entitled “Civil Society and Orthodoxy”, November 16-17, 2012, at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology.
Politicians of all levels, including senators, MPs, and local and regional authorities, will be attending and speaking on the major hot-button themes of the witness of Orthodoxy in the modern world. Also attending will be representatives of the Orthodox and Ancient Near Eastern churches, theological schools, and other intellectuals.
The Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy (IAO) is an interparliamentary organization, based in the Hellenic Parliament. Parliamentary delegations from Member Parliaments of the organisation participate, namely: Albania, Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Greece, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Romania, the Federation of Russia, Serbia, Montenegro, Slovakia and Ukraine, as well as, groups of Members of Parliaments from: Australia, Asia, Africa and the U.S.A
