The Russian and East European Institute (REEI) was established in 1958 on Indiana University’s Bloomington campus. REEI administers one of the country’s leading programs in Russian and East European area studies. REEI has been designated one of sixteen U.S. Department of Education-funded Title VI National Resource/FLAS Centers for Russia and Eastern Europe for the 2010-2013 grant period.
