“The Cross & Redemption: Peace over Violence” presented by  Fr Jonathan Tobias, Professor at Christ the Saviour Seminary, Pennsylvania.

The presentation will cover how the Cross, as the sacrifice of the Son of God, is not a deflection of God’s wrath onto Himself away from us. Rather, it is the Son of God descending to the extremities of alienation, violence and death — and revealing His Divinity at the very worst of despair. Thus, the Christological life for all Christians is the possibility of infinite peace in the context of any human extremity. The usual Western narrative of the Cross is deficient in that it injects violence into the nature of God, and can include the way of peace only despite its theology, not because of it.

There will be an opportunity to pray, walk, receive sacrament of confession, shared meals and Divine Liturgy on Sunday. Lenten Foods by Fr Roberto
