Source: Orthodox Christian Laity The Orthodox Christian Laity (OCL) Winter Board Meeting will take place on February 4-6, 2016, in Houston, Texas.  Arrangements have been made by Argo Georgandis Pyle and Peter Petkas.  The board members will   be staying at Courtyard West University Hotel.  The meeting will begin with a fellowship dinner on Thursday, February 4.  The Friday,the  February 5 board meeting will take place at Annunciation Cathedral Meeting Facilities, 3511 Yoakum Blvd, Houston from 9:00 am-4:00 pm.   Board member Gayle Woloschak will address the board and other interested individuals on her work and insights pertaining to Orthodox Christian Unity.

Source: Orthodox Christian Laity The Orthodox Christian Laity board of directors and advisors enjoyed a productive, thoughtful and prayerful Annual Meeting at Mission Bay (San Diego), California during the weekend of November 5-8, 2015.  In addition to the nuts and bolts business of managing the organization, the topic of fundraising and developing a steady flow of financial support was discussed. The board spent considerable time discussing the work of the Assembly of Bishops and the work of the Great and Holy Council scheduled for the week of Pentecost in May 2016. Source: Orthodox Christian Laity IN MEMORY: JAMES KOULOGEORGE James Koulogeorge, a founding member of Orthodox Christian Laity and the last living founding member of Saints Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church in Glenview, IL, fell asleep in the Lord on Thursday, October 29, 2015.  Jim served as the first President of OCL from 1987-88 and as Treasurer until 2012.  He was a passionate advocate of Orthodox Christian Unity in the United States.  He was a devout Orthodox Christian.  He and his wife Mary were the respected elders of the community.  Jim and Mary represent the “great generation” of Orthodox faithful…

Source: Orthodox Christian Laity The Assembly of Bishops has been meeting for six years.  June 2015 is a critical month and time period in their efforts to develop a plan to make the administrative life of the Orthodox Church in the United States canonical.  Orthodox ecclesiology dictates that the Church be organized in geographic areas with one bishop in one city.  Overlapping jurisdictions weaken the Commandment of Christ to make disciples of All Nations.  Bishops are not foreign agents.  Governments of other countries have no place in directing the actions of Bishops in the USA.  We need a single Synod…
