The Cathedral Choir of SS Constantine and Helen is honored and excited to host the 2013 annual conference of our Federation. This is a very notable year for our parish as we celebrate our 100th Anniversary! We are so pleased that the Federation awarded this year’s conference to us in honor of this historic event in the life of our spiritual home. So, we are working diligently to make this a very special event for our parish and for all of you, as well. To that end we have lined up unique and fun-filled events each evening for you. Comedian, Basile, will be on hand the first evening of our conference to perform his new show, “Growing Up Greek in America”.
You’ll have lots of fun Saturday evening, too. We will wine you and dine you at a fabulous wine tasting event. You will sample a wide variety of liquors and wines and feast on spanakopites, crab cakes, fried ravioli, meatballs, chicken wings, bruschetta and a pasta bar of penne and fettuccini with chicken, shrimp, vegetables and variety of sauces. Greek and American dancing?….of course!
But you know the weekend can’t be all fun and games…………
We’ll have plenty of rehearsal time to learn the beautiful and moving Bogdanos arrangement of the Divine Liturgy of St.
John Chrysostom. We will be singing under the very artistic and spiritually uplifting direction of Christopher Kypros. Our
very own Alexis Bratsakis will accompany us on the organ. What a memorable liturgy this promises to be!
For your comfort and convenience, all events will be held at our cathedral complex. Everything is on one level so
navigating from one event to another will not be a problem for those us that don’t get around quite as well as we used to.
We will be staying at the Radisson Star Plaza Hotel just 2 blocks from the cathedral. The hotel offers premium rooms at a
special flat rate of $99 per night. You’ll find a wide variety of restaurants, clubs and bars for your late night entertainment. There is a beautiful pool and spa area for your relaxation after a very busy conference day.
