Doxacon, Science Fiction and Fantasy 2013

Our parish is sponsoring the Washington D.C. area’s first and only Orthodox Christian Science Fiction & Fanstasy convention during July 19-20, 2013.  We will be exploring the science fiction/fantasy genre through the lens of the Orthodox Christian perspective.

We are pleased to announce our Kenyote Speakers:  His Eminence Metropolitan SAVAS of Pittsburgh and Dr. Thomas Bertonneau of S.U.N.Y Oswego, NY.  (Professor of Literature at SUNY Oswego, NY,  & author of “The Truth is Out There-Christian Faith and Classic Television Science Fiction)

A writers workshop will be given by Matushka Donna Farley, who not only has written well received Orthodox books, but is an award winning science fiction/fantasty author as well.

Between keynote speakers, participants will have the opportunity to choose to attend thematic, topic specific presentations based on works from books, television or film.
