Theme: “For the Good of Many”: Constantine and the Edict of Milan on its 1700th Anniversary”

Join us on Friday afternoon at 3:00 pm for a guided tour of the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis, an outstanding example of Neo-Byzantine architecture and home to the world’s largest installation of mosaic iconography. Then travel a few blocks to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church for a Byzantine Rite vespers service in English at 5:00 pm followed immediately by a banquet reception. We will reconvene Saturday at Saint Louis University’s Il Monastero conference center for a full day of learned reflection.

We are now accepting paper and session proposals. Papers should address some aspect of the Constantinian legacy in any period from the fourth century to the present day. Researchers in any field that might be made relevant to the topic are encouraged to submit. These may include, but are not limited to: Theology, History, Art History, Sociology, Literature, Cultural Studies, Slavic Studies, or Political Theory.
