WASHINGTON – His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America participated today in the National Inaugural Prayer Service in the Capital’s National Cathedral with President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and the Members of the U.S. Congress in attendance.

As it has been the case in previous Presidential Inaugurations, the Archbishop was among the select national religious leaders participating in this service. The National Prayer Service is a tradition dating back to the Inauguration of George Washington.

  1. Yeah…the Archbishop participated…and I’d encourage EVERYONE to watch the tape.

The Archbishop of America spent about 2 minutes reading his script…right after the Muslim Imam gave his Call to prayer in Arabic.

Would it have killed him to say “in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

    What a joke.
