SYOSSET, NY [OCA]  The search for an experienced, qualified individual to assume the duties of Treasurer of the Orthodox Church in America, initially announced in November 2018, continues.

The successful candidate, who will succeed Melanie Ringa, the current OCA Treasurer, will be directly appointed by His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon with confirmation by the Holy Synod of Bishops and endorsement by the Metropolitan Council.

According to Archpriest Alexander Rentel, OCA Chancellor, “this is a part-time, stipend position, with supervisory responsibility over an experienced Accounting Manager.  This position does not have to be local, but the treasurer will be asked to attend at least four to six meetings annually, listed under ‘Qualifications’ in the job description, as well as the All-American Councils.”

A PDF of the job description, which includes a detailed list of duties and responsibilities, is available online.

As noted in the job description, the Treasurer will report directly to the Chancellor of the Orthodox Church in America.  He or she will be accountable to the Metropolitan, the Holy Synod, the All-American Council, and the Metropolitan Council, reporting regularly on the overall areas of responsibility and the financial management of the OCA.  He or she will discuss with the Chancellor priorities, concerns, and financial expectations.  In consultation with the Finance Committee, the Treasurer will keep the Chancellor and Metropolitan informed of financial matters and unforeseen events.

Individuals interested in applying for the position should submit a cover letter and detailed resume indicating relevant educational and professional experience, together with three [3] letters of recommendation, to the Office of the Chancellor, PO Box 675, Syosset, NY 11791 no later than March 21, 2019.

Enquiries may be directed to Father Alexander at chancellor@oca.org.
