The female voice on the other side of the receiver sounds alarmed. She describes what she sees looking down from her 6th story Miami condo. “The swimming pool is gone!” she cries. “It’s no longer there . . . just a hole in the concrete.” Unfortunately, before you can respond to her comments you hear loud crackling sounds over the cell phone. And then…

Source: The Palm Beach Post Chaplain uses smartphone to connect dying with family members, often during last rites By Joe Capozzi The Palm Beach Post ATLANTIS — The priest’s cellphone buzzed again as he was visiting coronavirus patients. An hour earlier that day, April 1, he had given last rites to yet another COVID-19 patient at JFK Medical Center. But now he was needed again, in another room in the intensive care unit. So the Rev. Gabriel Ghanoum repeated his routine — solemn, courageous and tragically all too familiar — as a humble and technologically savvy hospital chaplain on the…

A Case Study: Tarpon Springs, Metropolis of Atlanta by Nicholas Bouzos On a recent vacation to Tarpon Springs, Florida, I came across some curious rumors about church politics; and the talk of the town is “The Tarpon Archons!” According to the archons.org website, “An Archon is an honoree by His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew for his outstanding service to the Church, and a well-known distinguished, and well-respected leader of the Orthodox Christian community.” These individuals are vetted through the local Metropolis? So, what does it take to become an Archon? According to online myths, archonship involve nepotism, cronyism, or…

I offer it here for the glory of God and the edification of the reader. December 18, 2013 Naples, Florida USA Early morning on April 2, 2013 I looked down at my…
