Source: Orthodox Christian Laity Why have there been no announcements all these weeks about the resolution of the Election of the Metropolitan of Chicago?  Members of the Holy Synod went to Istanbul before August 15.  What were the results of this meeting?  They are going back in early September?  Why is the work of the Greek Archdiocese (GOA) done with no input from the faithful? The Church is a community, a communion.  It is about communication.   Where is the transparency in its actions and decisions?  What role does the Archdiocesan Council play in this process?  Do they just pay and…

Source: Orthodox Christian Laity by George Matsoukas It is difficult to discern the Holy Spirit-Spirit of Truth in the process of selecting the hierarchs in the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of the United States. The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America [GOA] is headed for another wrenching crisis!  What happened to the post conciliar spirit of Orthodoxy one year after Holy and Great Council?  Are we experiencing the consequences of the imposed 2003 Charter?  We have a clash of cultures in our understanding rules and regulations.  The voices of the hierarchy, clergy and laity living in America are being ignored in the…

Source: Orthodox England Two Local Orthodox Churches, Bulgaria and Antioch, have withdrawn from the Crete meeting, organized by Phanar bureaucrats in Constantinople. The Georgian Church, savagely insulted by the Phanar (just as it also insulted the Bulgarian Church, causing a diplomatic incident, and the Church of Greece, whose canonical territory it invaded) for its faithfulness to Orthodoxy, may not attend. If the Russian Church does not attend…

Representatives of the Patriarchate of Constantinople promised that ther…

Source:  Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople By the grace of God, the proceedings of the Synaxis of the Primates of the Orthodox Autocephalous Churches concluded today, on the Sunday of Orthodoxy. The Synaxis took place at the Phanar from 6-9 March, 2014, at the invitation and under the presidency of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, and was attended by all the most venerable Primates in person, with the exception of His Beatitude Patriarch John of Antioch, who, due to illness, was represented by Hierarchs of his Church. The proceedings of the Synaxis were carried out in a very fraternal spirit; the…
