    Church announces the opening of a pastoral marriage, family counseling center

    (Anderson, South Carolina) Christ the Saviour Orthodox Church’s pastor is a certified counselor through the Antiochian House of Studies. Upon successful completion of a two-year course that was designed to facilitate a need for greater competency and more skills in dealing with marriage and family needs on a pastoral basis, the V. Rev. David Randolph, pastor of Christ the Saviour Orthodox, was certified as a therapist. Randolph said the course provided a solid academic foundation for professional of pastoral counseling and therapy.

    Upon graduating and receiving the blessing of a bishop, with the support and encouragement of the parish, Randolph opened the office of pastoral marriage and family counseling ministry under the name Teleios.

    Services include premarital counseling (preparation for a rich and meaningful marriage), assessment and treatment for children, adolescents, individuals, couples and families, problem-solving marriage therapy, parenting and child development, substance abuse (a cognitive and behavioral approach) and emotional disorders by Rational Emotive Therapy approach.

    The ministry is designed provide therapy to those are not able to pay the fees of a state-licensed therapist. However any client whose needs are beyond the scope of the ministries’ training will be referred to a licensed agency. The fee structure will be based on a sliding scale designed to provide affordable therapy.
